2010 marked ten years since our son, Sgt. Cornel Young, Jr., Providence Police Department, was killed in the line of duty (January 28, 2000). Not a day goes by that we do not think of him and his life sacrifice trying to help others. We continue to pray for peace and strength and we know that he is our guardian angel looking over us. His legacy lives on forever by giving back to others through the Sgt. Cornel Young, Jr. Scholarship Fund, which we established through the RI Foundation. May our son rest in peace for he is in GOD's hands now.
